About the Artist
Jennine Hough, a North Carolina native, received her undergraduate degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
She continued her studies as the recipient of a scholarship to the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, as a fellow to The MacDowell Colony, and as a recipient of an NEA-SECCA grant. She continues to study portrait and figure painting.
After an early career teaching painting and art history in the Atlanta area, Jennine focused her efforts solely on painting. She had solo exhibits in New York, Washington, Santa Fe, Atlanta, Aspen and other cities and has participated in many group exhibitions. She is represented in museum, corporate and private collections.
She continues to paint and teach in Aspen, CO and Asheville, NC.

I don't remember being particularly passionate about making art as a child, although I always took art courses, like I took dance lessons, and piano lessons, and golf lessons.
